Finding a beautiful PowerPoint color scheme

Nothing determines the look and feel of a presentation more than its colors. Not all colors go well together. A matter of personal taste, but there is also hard science. How to find a color scheme that suits your situation?

Once you extracted the desired colors, write down their “RGB” codes and enter them as a color template in PowerPoint. For example, for my own web site I was inspired by the fresh colors of an apple and generous amounts of water.

The resulting color scheme can be viewed here.

Jan, how do you place your six colors above in the various color theme fields in powerpoint?

Wow, I've been doing this the really really hard way. This is a life saver. Thanks!

Jan, thank you. I will give this a try.

Allessandra, go in "design", "colors" "create new theme colors"

It doesn't matter that much. The 12 top to bottom will show up as left to right in your color scheme. I would go from top to bottom and vaguely stick to the "dark" and "light" descriptors. Put bright color variations in the "accent" boxes

Jan, yes, but then I see 12 choices to fill with various colors...which of your six go where?

Not fair! We all used to do it manually the old school way. And totally messed it up, of course.

If you make it that easy to come up with colour schemes that are actually usable - how are we supposed to break our presentations? We are expected to mess it up.

Shame on your practical tips.
