(Soft) launching Idea Transplant

I am in the process of re-branding my presentation and pitch business into idea transplant. I felt that this name reflects what I do, taking your idea, and making sure other people get it. “Getting it” is more than a simple registration in your audience’s brain, a presentation’s success equals people living and breathing your idea in their heart. Hence the slight medical twist of the brand. You can see the first version of the redesigned web site here, but I am still not done with finalizing logos and colors (suggestions are welcome).

Do not worry, I will keep the name Sticky Slides for this blog.

Hi Jan:

REALLY like the new site. Indeed, I would steal lots of this if it wasn't so obvious!! ;)

Things I like - white space, colours, overall design is great (!) I love the 'show don't tell' perspective on the about page,

There are 3 small things I think would make it even better -

More space for the logo to breathe. It feels a little cramped there.

I feel that the 5 'slides' on the front page speak too much to your 'features' and not enough to customer needs. What problems do customers have that they need to come to you? I feel that these slides should have customers nodding saying to themselves 'oh yes, that is my issue. I had better read further'. It may be worth asking a few friendly faces if they feel the same.

I also think it is great that you have the example presentations. However, they would be even more powerful if backed up by case studies. Why did they hire you in the first place? Could they not see the wood for the trees? Could they not clarify their idea? How did working with you help solve the problem? What roadblocks did you come across on the road and how did you overcome them? Hope that gives the idea...

I hope that helps. email me if you want any more detailed thoughts.

Cheers, F

Fair point. Trading off making a personal connection with overseas clients versus big "narcissistic" pictures of myself. Maybe it needs adjusting.

Hi Jan, I agree with Justin's comment about 'from - to' concept. That same thought came to me when I saw the sample logos in your blog post. I like the idea of heart-to-brain, triggered by your logo image with red dot on heart.

Thanks for all the tips.

Stuart

Excellent website design and layout. The colours are soothing. Best wishes Jan.

Congrats. Very nice name. A small feedback though. The fuzzy/hazy 'idea' is a bit dizzying. Hurts the eye if you look at it longer.

Thank you for all your comments. I have updated the site with a slide show.

Site looks good, great choice of bold colors. I actually like the picture of you since it adds personality. The 'we'you mention is mostly you, and that's fine. I've grown to trust your work thru your blog.

Great site, great name: I would even recommend changing the name of the blog!

Thank you for the thoughts!

Like the new site. I think if you are using graphics to communicate then they need to reflect what you are proposing - if that makes sense. So the one you have on the site looks like a filter. If I hear you correctly you are transplanting not filtering. It needs to be a "from - to" graphic. Just a thought.

I love the copy and the site design. I am not sure about the huge picture of you... while you are quite handsome, the photo reads to me as a bit concerned/worried, which I'm assuming is not something you want to come across to people looking for help pitching their ideas.

The eyes say a lot.
